THE DOCKLINES BLOG
Stories from the Alaska Longline Fishermen's Association and Alaskans Own
In celebration of fishing lifestyles and ocean stewardship, we offer the Docklines Blog, a hub of anecdotes and news meant to update seafood consumers, environmentally-minded citizens, and anyone who relies on fish for income or food about the issues, priorities, and stories that are important to the Southeast Alaskan small scale fishing fleet.
The Alaska Longline Fishermen's Association is proud to house Alaskans Own, the first Community Supported Fishery (CSF) program in Alaska. Alaskans Own was created to connect customers to high quality, sustainably-caught fish, all while supporting ALFA's ocean conservation work through our Fishery Conservation Network.
From bringing our readers and supporters "how I started fishing" stories, tales about strange fish sightings, our favorite recipes, news from fish world, and more, Docklines is here to connect you straight to the fisherfolks who are bringing fantastic seafood from beautiful Southeast Alaska straight to your plate, supporting our coastal communities, and spending their days, weeks, and months at sea.
